01What it does

Everything your controller needs on PC.

Six things AxisNex does for you, in plain words.

  • One controller in game

Your physical controller is hidden from games (HidHide). The game sees a single virtual controller with your settings, no double input, no “player 2 joined”.

  • As little delay as possible

An event-driven input thread with Windows multimedia priority (MMCSS), allocation-free processing measured in microseconds, no smoothing unless you want it.

  • 1000 Hz over USB

Over a USB cable, Windows reads the controller 1000 times a second instead of 250 (Microsoft-signed hidusbf driver), up to 3 ms less delay. One switch, removed on uninstall.

  • Guided calibration in 15 s

Rest, roll both sticks around the edge, let go. It measures drift, the resting centre, stick range and triggers, then proposes the smallest safe deadzone. You see it before it’s saved.

  • Full manual tuning

Deadzone shape, inner and outer deadzone, anti-deadzone, response curve, square output, sensitivity and triggers, if you’d rather set it by hand.

  • 11 languages, 9 themes

English, Română, Deutsch, Español, Français, Italiano, Português, Nederlands, Polski, Türkçe and Русский. Switch live, no restart.

02See it

AxisNex in 50 seconds.

A short video, with sound. Press play, or pick a part to jump straight to it.

03How to start

Install once. Then four steps.

The installer sets up AxisNex, HidHide (if it isn’t there yet), the virtual-controller driver and the 1000 Hz USB driver. Restart Windows after the first install, then open AxisNex. If the game runs through Steam, keep Steam Input on.

  1. 1

    Connect

Plug in your controller with a USB cable (1000 Hz) or pair it over Bluetooth.

  2. 2

    Pick a profile

Pro is selected by default. Switch only if you want something specific.

  3. 3

    START

One big button. From now on the game only sees the virtual controller.

  4. 4

    Calibrate

A 15-second guided check, every session. Then launch the game.

04Profiles

Pick one, play, fine-tune later.

Four ready-made starting points, made with Rocket League in mind, with zero smoothing in all of them. Not sure? Keep Pro. Your calibration is saved into whichever profile is active, and any built-in profile can be reset to its original values. Everything can be fine-tuned in Advanced tuning.

  • Profile

    Pro Default

    Ranked, general play, fast reactions

Linear response, small deadzone and 100% diagonals, so diagonal inputs reach full range on both axes.

  • Profile

    Freestyle

    Air roll, flicks, freestyle clips

The same base with a touch more precision around centre for small, quick inputs.

  • Profile

    Aerial

    Air control, ceiling shots, recoveries

A gentler curve near centre for tiny corrections in the air, still full speed at the edge.

  • Profile

    Worn Controller

    Older controllers with stick drift

Bigger deadzones so nothing moves on its own, and an earlier outer edge for worn sticks.

05Under the hood

From your hands to the game, in microseconds.

AxisNex never touches the game: no injection, no memory reading, no file changes. It works at the controller level, like other controller tools on PC.

06Free & safe

Free. No account. No telemetry.

AxisNex costs nothing and never will ask for money, a login, your passwords or your game account. It goes online only for the optional update check and the optional Game rules page; every update is downloaded into the AxisNex folder and its SHA-256 checked before it starts.

Behind it

From a concept to a released app.

  1. V1.3.3

    A tuning update

Every built-in profile was retuned so the car answers the stick sooner, there is a new Freestyle 2 profile, and several things that made…

  2. v0.1

    Where it started

A first prototype, a window full of sliders and a lot of trial and error. Then the INPUT ZERO concept.

The problem

On PC, a controller rarely feels the way it should: sticks that rest a little off-centre, deadzones that are too big, a controller read only 250 times a second, and games that see two controllers at once. AxisNex fixes that one step before the game, in one place.

What I did

Everything from the idea to the installer: the UX/UI, the C# / .NET 10 + WPF app, the input pipeline, calibration, 11 languages, the installer, updates and the license. Built with my basic knowledge of C#, together with Claude and Codex as development partners.

Of course, my first review had to be mine 😄 For me, the app is already great, although there are still a few improvements to make. More updates are coming soon. Thanks for taking the time to check it out!
