VioTaxi is a local taxi company in the Netherlands, run by an experienced driver who works 24/7. I designed and built its website from scratch: a fast, dark, mobile-first site where people can see the services and fixed prices, and book a ride in under a minute.
What the site does
- Online booking — a step-by-step form: pickup, destination, date and time, number of passengers.
- Call or WhatsApp in one tap — the phone number and WhatsApp are always within reach, on every page.
- Services — business transport, airport transfers and rides to events, each explained clearly.
- Transparent tariffs — start fee, price per kilometre and per minute, plus the accepted payment methods.
- About the driver — experience, reviews and the car, so customers know who is picking them up.
- Report a problem — a quick way for customers to report an issue.
How I built it
- Custom WordPress theme, written by hand — no page builder.
- Fully editable with ACF — every section is built on Advanced Custom Fields, so the client can change almost any text, image, price or button on the site himself, without touching code or breaking the layout.
- Night-city design in black and taxi yellow, with bold typography and clear calls to action: “Reserveer je taxi” is never more than one scroll away.
- GSAP animations for smooth, subtle entrances that never slow the page down.
- Performance: responsive, optimised images and LiteSpeed caching for quick loading on mobile data.
- Privacy & GDPR: cookie consent with Complianz, a privacy policy and terms of use.
- Local SEO: Dutch content, clean page titles and structured information, so the site shows up when people search for a taxi in the area.
The client’s call
The look of the site — the black-and-yellow night style and the overall layout — follows the client’s own design preferences. I would have taken it in a slightly different direction, but on a client project the client is king: my job was to turn his vision into a site that is fast, clear and easy to book from, and to make it fully his to manage.
The whole site is in Dutch, the language of its customers.
